Had a real nice breakfast at the lodge before setting off. Went up the hill where that have a JC statue , same as Rio except much tinier. Has a great view of the city below which I wanted to depart but battled on my GPS to leave the masses and poverty behind.
The road was good asphalt for 130 km then the road just abruptly ended at a bridge and then turned into a dirt track, rutted out and tough going. I thought I was on the wrong road, but soon caught up to two vehicles that had passed me earlier and then knew it was the right track. In a car it would be sheer hell but on the bike it is bliss but slow going.
Then it turned to asphalt again all the way to Menongue. At the fuel station I was in a line of about 23 bikes and then for some reason I am escorted to the front of the line and fueled up and off I went, nobody complained!
The place is run down and I found a lodge that let me camp under the boma, the place is in serious decline. Had dinner and some Angolan beer after a long 9 hour ride.
