Ruacana - Lubango Angola. Day 8 579km

The day didn't go quite as planned, I thought I would head to Rundu via Ruacana where I was based 40 years ago in the army and check it out, what a dumbass.
I saw the border post for Angola so I pulled in there and asked the immigration officer if I could enter, no problem. So I bolted into Ruacana, place is unrecognizable,  once again I wasn't thinking.

Went back to the border and into Angola. Have no map, no money and no plan. I head off get lost ,come back to the border and ask the guy which trail to take. It's just trails, so I head off on the one I think he told me to, but it's like trail bike riding in the Bush having no idea where it is heading. Plus they only speak Portuguese, no English. The trail ends after many villages and great riding on a bike, in a car it would b your worst nightmare. After 150 kilometers later I am in Xangongo where I fuel up but my crdit card does not work,  so convince them they have to take Namibian dollars, which was quite a process. I finally realized why the drivers were on the wrong side of the road and always screaming and yelling at me cause they drive on the right hand side, would have been nice to know 150km back.

Then I was on asphalt for 300km to Lubango, a few massive  potholes enroute arriving at dusk, a long 11 hour day. Camped at Casper Lodge, upscale place but has two camp spots and was only 3000 Kwanza. Went up the road to eat and three beers was only $9.
